THE MOODY COMMUNITY LIBRARY NEEDS YOUR HELP | Monday, October 27th, 2008

Moody, Texas is a small town in Central Texas, located near McGregor, not far from Waco.  It is the hometown of my father, Ed McKamie.  Moody missed out on the grant funding for local community libraries that occurred between the 1930’s and 1950’s.  But the need for a community library was evident, so about 10 years ago, a group of energetic local citizens embarked on the project of creating a public library out of (more…)

Utah is Energy | Monday, October 27th, 2008

Utah has officially switched to the Four Day Workweek, to save energy.

We should all follow suit. Closing many government buildings three days a week would save millions of dollars in energy costs for Texas alone. Plus the savings associated with commuting of tens of thousands of government employees at the state and local level.

Certainly, additional energy would be expended in enjoyment of additional time for recreation and shopping, but that is (more…)

1. Eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax
[to relieve effects on middle-income taxpayers, and reduce taxes on large investors so they will release money into the system].

2. Eliminate the limit on FDIC insurance on deposits, now $100,000.00
